Style Re-Vamp

So lately I have been looking in my closet and realizing that I needed a change in my style. I'm 23 years old and still had a "I Love Me" shirt hanging in my closet. I also wasn't willing to pay more than $10 for a shirt or pair of jeans even though I have a TOO FACED shadow collection worth more than $50. So I decided to take my older items to Goodwill and pick out a few items every month to create more of a personalized style and get a more put together look. Here is my first shopping trip:

Shoedazzle is having a buy one get one free sale and the first pair of pumps I picked out were these.
They are a suede cobalt blue sling back named Gigli. $39.95

My next pair is faux leather studded awesomeness named Koukla. $ FREE

The great thing about shoedazzle is each pair get a cute bad to store your shoes in.

I desperately needed more work clothes since my color options are solid black or white. This long sleeve sheer black button-up with lace back was around $14 at F21. (Forever21)

Back

Front side of this neutral toned blouse with peter pan collar and lace back. This was a break buy for around $20 at F21.

These high-waisted shorts at F21 were too cute to pass up at $13. I also started purchasing suede hangers as a more sophisticated look compared to the plastic I've been using. I picked up a few at my local Dollar Tree @ 2 for $1. They save space and the texture grips slinky shirts so they won't slide off.  Until next haul, happy shopping everyone.

Birchbox July 2012

So here is the Birchbox for July. I wanted to wait  until I had time to use the products to show you what I received and give some honest feedback.

Here are a few pics to show you how nicely Birchbox wraps the samples.

First item was a FULL SIZE Laura Geller Double Dipped Lipstick in Caribbean Kiss. It comes dual sided with two complementary colors. I preferred the pinker shade but they were also nice layered. I have since lost it. SMH

This is a sample of Manna Kadar Shimmer Lotion. You can wear it alone or mix with foundation. I didn't notice it with my foundation but do love it on my shoulders. It gives my skin a beautiful glow. Tube is a bit messy.

This a Sample of AHAVA mud mask. I have yet to try it since I have so many fave products but is in my "products to try" stash.

I was really happy to get these. My ear buds that came with my Ipod are on their last leg . Works great and are super cute.

Another Perfume sample. This one is by Oscar de la Renta. Not someone who is really into perfume sampling and this one was a bit of a more mature smell for my taste.
That wraps up The July box. I was a bit lack luster when I got it in the mail but looking bad it was a good one. Can't wait for my August Box!

Gel Polish Starter Kit By Red Carpet Manicure

As my search for the perfect polish continues I splurged on a Red Carpet Manicure LED Gel polish Kit. Here is what the kit includes as well as a quick run down of the steps:

  1. Portable LED Light
  2. Max Adhesion Prep
  3. Base Coat Gel
  4. Seal & Shine To Coat
  5. Nourishing Cuticle Oil
  6. Red Carpet Reddy Nail Polish
  7. Pre & Post Remover

First shape and buff nail. This is also the time you want to push back or remove cuticle.

Then use Purify to clean the nail bed.

Prep with sanitizer.

Apply a thin Base coat and cure for 1min.

Apply 2  thin coats of color curing in between for 3mins.

Apply a thin top coat and cure for 2 mins.

Wipe nails agian with purify.

Then enjoy the results! Color used is "Nervous with Anticipation". I wanted a soft Pink color but it turned out really sheer. Color does last as long as you dont get coloron the finger or the cuticle. Picking off the excess color breaks the seal and lifts polish.

Gel Perfect By Nutra Nail Review

So lately I have been going through manicures like crazy. Working in  jewelry store has with such tiny clasps has really made it hard for me to keep my nail color intact. So when I came across Gel Perfect Manicure by Nurta Nail I was pretty interested to see if it could really could hold a patent leather shine for weeks without chipping. Heres what it includes:
Box-Polishes-Directions/Coupons

Activator-Polish-Cleaner
Here Is a rough run down of the steps:
First Step: Push back cuticles and clean nail surface.
Second Step: Apply activator to nail bed.
Third Step: While activator is still wet apply polish and clean with cleaner after painting 5 nails
Fourth Step: Repeat step three.

Heres the results after 3 Days:

Heres the results after removal:

Final Thoughts:
Patent Leather Shine: No
No Chips for weeks: No
Easy Removal: No
Would I repurchase: No
This product does lasts a bit longer than regualr polish but application and staying power is what is advertised. It also seems streaky and doesnt really shine. This is on my "return" list, I guess I am just going to have to shell out the $$$ to get the at home gel kit.
